My Story

Returning to London, Ontario after a

7 year adventure in the west!

In 2014, we were searching for a place to settle down and raise a family when we settled upon a farm in Lamont County, Alberta which boasted a five acre u-pick saskatoon berry patch.  Coming from Ontario we were curious!  What are these berries?  We quickly discovered that saskatoon berries were loved by most in western Canada.

I decided it was time to explore my pastry skills and learn now to make the perfect saskatoon berry pie!  These delicious little berries along with many other health benefits were known to leave you with purple lips!  I was soon known as the pie lady and I was sharing the love of saskatoon berry pie with family, neighbours and friends through the area.

Our home that was once, The Riverside General Store, built in 1947, was moved to the property from 8 miles north of Andrew, Alberta in 1997.  It served as a store and tea room for a u-pick berry farm.  Little did we know we were sitting on a little piece of history in the Lamont County community.  The front of the building which once served as the gift shop was a new beautiful kitchen, where lots of time was spent in the evening, rolling pastry after my three little boys were fast asleep.

Slowly the word was getting around and I was smiling from ear to ear, as people in the community labeled it the best Saskatoon pie they had ever tasted.

With family in mind, it was time to move back to Ontario, bringing the joy of saskatoon berries with me.

I am pleased to offer baked good prepared in a certified kitchen. Purple Lips continues to satisfy local taste buds with pies, muffins, cookies and many other sweet treats! I hope you will find a way to include Purple Lips in your day, at your family table or on special occasions.  I hope to gain your trust in providing you with high quality baked goods you can rely on.
